iOS and Android Game of the Week - your vote needed

Every week, thousands of new games hit the iOS App Store and Google Play on Android. Trying to find the diamonds in the rough is no easy task, let us assure you.

We like to think we do a pretty good job with our news articles, mid-week round-ups, expert reviews, and comprehensive features, mind.

But, now we want to know what YOU think.

Every Thursday, we're going to ask you to pick the best game that was released on iOS and Android that week (from the nominations below), and then we'll present that winner in a glamorous article on the Friday.

There are loads of places to vote. Leave a comment at the bottom of this article, or reply to our Game of the Week tweet, answer the poll on Facebook. Alternatively, boot up the game on your smartphone, strap it to a carrier pigeon, and aim it at our offices.

The nominations

Gun Bros 2 (iPhone, iPad)

Muscle-bound siblings Percy and Francis team up once more for another testosterone laced episode of dual-stick carnage. Now with online multiplayer.

?
Alien Breed?(Android, iPhone, iPad)

The mobile version of this atmospheric Amiga classic has finally made the jump from iOS to Android. It may be 22 years old, but it's still better than Aliens: Colonial Marines.

?
Year Walk?(iPhone, iPad)

Weird symbols. Eerie noises. A horse in a suit. Yes, Simogo's latest ticks all the boxes on the creepy-ass game checklist, and still finds the time to be really rather good.

?
Major Magnet (iPhone, iPad)

PagodaWest's wacky physics-platformer is all about the power of attraction. Guide the major through colourful Sonic-esque levels by aiming him at magnets, watching him spin, and then letting him fly.

?
The Sandbox (Android,?iPhone, iPad)

This free-to-play pixel-art god sim garnered strong reviews when it hit iOS last year. The question is, how will the Android crowd take to its omnipotent antics?

?
The Gods: Rebellion (iPhone, iPad)

Let's not beat around the bush: this is basically an unofficial God of War game for iOS. However, its decent set pieces, huge bosses, and interesting upgrade system make it worthy of investigation.
